LIVING WATERS

Updated: Mar 5

"I am thirsty!"

Cried the God of Mercy

--

"Jacob's well was there and Jesus tired from the long walk

sat wearily beside the well about noontime.

Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water

And Jesus said to her

"Give me something to drink."

"You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman

Why are you asking me for a drink?"

Jesus replied

"If you only knew the gift that God has for you

And who you are speaking to

you would ask me

And I would give you living waters."

(John 4:9.10-NLT)

--

"Grandma when were you healed?"

"I am so glad you asked," I replied.

HEALING WATERS

In the middle of the blazing sun

Weak and weary when the day was done

He came to me

He saw my thirst

Oh God of Mercy

He sought me first

You spoke to me about the Living Waters

You introduced me to my Heavenly Father

You sat with me

You saw my thirst

Oh God of Mercy

You sought me first

Eternal Life is a bubbling spring

Grace is the healing in Your wings

You came to me

You saw my thirst

Oh God of Mercy

You sought me first

Back and forth in the blazing sun

I draw from your waters when the day is done

You sit with me

You see my thirst

Oh God of Mercy

You sought me first

Your Word is forever fresh and new

Glorious Truth is found in you

You speak to me

You see my thirst

God of Mercy

You sought me first

Step by step in the uphill climb

Living Waters renew my mind

You strengthen me

You see my thirst

Oh God of Mercy

You sought me first

Joy inexpressible and full of glory

This is my life my only story

You came to me

You saw my thirst

In fathomless grace

You sought me first

On the cross you cried

"I thirst!"

Oh God of Mercy

You sought me first

"But sir you don't have a rope or bucket," she said.

"And this well is very deep,"

"Jesus replied

"Anyone who drinks of this water

Will soon become thirsty again

But those who drink the water I give

Will never be thirsty again

It becomes a fresh bubbling spring

Within them

Giving them eternal life."

-John 4: 11,13 -NLT
